Old Man Winter

Though the weather outside is  frightful, the fire is so delightful. And since we've no place to go--Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!

Real talk, this storm was pretty bad. I fortunately made it home yesterday. Had yesterday not been an early dismissal day, I would've been stranded like everyone else.  I did get stuck on what should have been a 10 minute bus ride for 2 hours. I was just SO GLAD to be on the bus and not at a bus stop! Neither of my roommates made it home. One slept at work and the other with a friend that lives walking distance from his school.

Many of the major highways were completely blocked. When my roommate roughed the weather to drive home this morning, he said that many people were parked in their cars on the highway sleeping.

Apparently Paris/Ile-de-France doesn't get weather like this often. One out of every five or ten winters is severe--which isn't enough to invest in all of the winter/snow removal equipment.  Looks like I'll be here for a pretty bad winter.

In other news: the snow is very pretty, especially with the sunshine glistening on it..
