England may not be well known for its... cuisine. Sure, you'll find fish and chips (fried fish and french fries), pub food, and great Indian food.
London is, however, known for its tea. And what better place to enjoy it than afternoon tea?
My mom and I did a traditional afternoon tea at the Connaught in Mayfair. The Connaught's "Chic and Shock" afternoon tea serves innovative sandwiches and amazing pastries, in addition to their bottomless pots of teas from all around the world. The first tea that I had was a Thai green tea with coconut--a perfect start to a few hours of tea intoxication with my mother!
After finger sandwiches and the first pot of tea came scones with some of the most amazing jellies I have ever tasted (pear with vanilla bean, an out of this world apricot). And after the scones came the pastries... and after the pastries came the cake!
